Privacy
Privacy and cookies
Short and plain. This page explains what we collect on this website and why.
Who we are
This website is run by DBIS Manchester Ltd. We are the controller of the information described here. You can contact us at david@dbismanchester.co.uk.
What we collect
If you email us. We keep your email and its contents so we can reply and, if you become a client, do the work. We do not sell your details.
If you book a free call. The booking button takes you to a booking page run by Trustist (trustist.org), which uses HubSpot. They collect the details you enter there. Please read their privacy information too.
Website statistics. If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to see which pages are visited and how people find the site. This tells us things like page views, rough location (town or region) and device type. It does not tell us who you are.
Cookies
We only use analytics cookies, and only if you say yes. Until you choose, they stay off. If you reject, we do not set them.
- _ga and _ga_N7EHTQN9Q2 (Google Analytics). These tell Google Analytics which visits come from the same browser. They last up to 2 years.
- dbis_consent. This is not a cookie. It is a small note kept in your browser that remembers your choice, so we do not keep asking.
If you reject, Google Analytics may still receive a basic signal that a page was loaded, without any cookies or an ID that follows you around. We use this to count visits in a limited way.
To change your mind at any time, use the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of any page. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings.
Who else sees the data
Google (analytics) and Trustist (booking), as described above. Google may process data outside the UK, under its own safeguards.
How long we keep it
Emails: as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any work after it, then deleted. Analytics: Google Analytics keeps data for 14 months at most, in line with our settings.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email us and we will reply promptly. If you are not happy with our reply, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
